Adult Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment is no longer just for teens. In fact, the American Association of Orthodontists states that one in five orthodontic patients is over the age of 21. Many adults are choosing to receive treatment because they understand the importance of maintaining their health, and they want to feel better about their appearance. Adults everywhere are taking advantage of the opportunity to receive orthodontic care, and now you can too. There are so many options now beyond just metal braces, so it’s your time for a straight smile.

The short answer is absolutely not, age is irrelevant.  Our youngest patient is 5 years old and our oldest is over 80.  We have many adult patients proving it’s never too late to fix your bite or your smile.

Yes! We can get the same excellent results as braces with Invisalign.  In fact, we treat more patients with Invisalign than any other orthodontist in the South Bay.

Dr. Gimlen likes to use Invisalign because:

  • Most patients prefer the ability to take on and off the aligners.
  • Most patients have shorter and fewer appointments, than with traditional braces
  • Most patients find it more comfortable than braces
  • Oral hygiene is easier (brushing and flossing is normal with Invisalign)
  • There are little to no food restrictions
  • While wearing Invisalign, you are minimizing the wearing of your enamel and protecting your teeth BONUS they act as a nightguard during and after treatment

We believe that we want to maintain your natural bite and smile until you are 100. If your bite is not in the correct functional position:

  • Your enamel could be wearing down
  • Your gums could be strained and receding
  • You are not enjoying a big, beautiful smile
  • You could be breaking and chipping teeth
  • You may need to invest in root canals, bridges, and implants which will, in the long term, cost significantly more than if you invested in orthodontics to set up the proper bite.

No referral is needed. Also, our exams are complimentary! Request a consultation here.
